Denton Corker Marshall has donated a sketch of the Manchester Civil Justice Centre to England’s North West 2010 Architecture Festival.
The sketch is by Barrie Marshall whose drawings of the Manchester Civic Justice Centre were the cornerstone of the multi-award winning building’s design.
It's one in a series of four sketches depicting the best contemporary buildings in England’s north-west. The sketches have been reproduced on reusable bags which are being given away by Architruck, a travelling exhibition touring the region throughout the festival, to encourage the public to engage with architects.
The series comprises:
- Manchester Civil Justice Centre, Denton Corker Marshall
- Echo Arena, Wilkinson Eyre Architects
- Urbis, Ian Simpson Architects
- Singing Ringing Tree, Tonkin Liu
The original sketches will be auctioned at the festival’s closing night party on June 26, with proceeds going to Shelter, a charity in England and Scotland that campaigns to end homelessness and bad housing.
The North West Architecture Festival 2010 is presented by the Royal Institute of British Architects and runs throughout the month of June. Events include exhibitions, building tours, talks and family activities.
